Retro Video of the Week: "Get Ready For This" by 2 Unlimited

Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of the release of Belgian/Dutch dance group 2 Unlimited's debut studio album Get Ready!  The album went to #10 on the Australian album chart, #12 on the Dutch album chart, and a meager #197 on the Billboard Hot 100, though it has since gone gold in the U.S.

It is best known in the U.S. for the track "Get Ready For This," the group's breakthrough single, and "Twilight Zone, both of which were featured on the 1995 ESPN compilation Jock Jams.  Those two songs (#10 and #1, respectively) and two others from the album, "Workaholic" (#4) and "The Magic Friend" (#3) were Top 10 on the Dutch pop chart.

"Get Ready For This" was an international hit.  In addition to reaching #10 on the Dutch pop chart, it went to #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 (their only Top 40 hit in the U.S.), #2 on the UK pop chart, and Top 10 on six other pop charts around the world.  As evidenced by its inclusion in Jock Jams, it also became a popular song around the world to play at sporting events.

There's Zubaz and an LA Kings hat in the video, so that's about as '90s as it gets.
