Today is the 30th anniversary of the release of Big Audio Dynamite II's album The Globe. Big Audio Dynamite was founded by former Clash guitarist and lead singer Mick Jones in 1984, and it went through several incarnations -- hence the fact that The Globe was released under the name Big Audio Dynamite II.
Anywho, The Globe featured arguably the band's biggest song, "Rush," a catchy danceable alt-rock song that was the group's only Top 40 hit in the U.S., going to #32 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also went to #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart went to #1 on the pop charts in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, and #2 in Ireland. The video is perfectly '90s, featuring Jones in a hat that was only acceptable in the '90s, shots of attractive women dancing, and what appears to be Uncle Jesse from Dukes of Hazzard also getting down.
