Updated Championship Week Predictions: "Pride (In the Name of Love)"

Today's song is U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)" in honor of the Hofstra Pride's CAA championship victory (and the fact that they're Irish and we're in St. Patrick's Week).  We had some great games yesterday, with several overtime games, some other close ones, some bubbles burst, and some bids clinched.

An today, from tip off of the LaSalle/St. Bonaventure game in the first round of the A-10 Tournament at 11:30 a.m. ET to the end of the Big Sky Tournament championship game between Idaho and Montana, the Mountain West Tournament first round game between Boise State and San Jose State, and the Big West first round game between UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara, which  are all scheduled to tip at 11:30 p.m. ET, we have 38 conference tournament games over about 14 hours.

Here's what happened yesterday and what we have to look forward to today:

• In the CAA title game, 3-seed Hofstra -- coached by Hofstra legend Speedy Claxton --beat 4-seed Monmouth in an exciting 75-69 game.  The Pride will be playing in their 5th NCAA Tournament and first since 2001, they year after Claxton graduated (though they did also go to the Big Dance his senior year).
• In the Horizon championship game, 1-seed Wright State got a block on a drive to the basket with less than a second left on what would have been the game-tying basket to beat 3-seed Detroit Mercy, 66-63. The Raiders will be playing in their 5th NCAA Tournament and first since 2022.
• In the MAAC championship, 3-seed Siena downed 1-seed Merrimack, 64-54, to clinch the Saints' 7th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2010.
• In the NEC title game, 1-seed LIU beat 3-seed Mercyhurst, 79-70.  It was purely academic, as the Sharks had already clinched the NEC's automatic berth because Mercyhurst is still in the transition period to D-1 and, therefore, was not eligible to go to the NCAA Tournament.  The Sharks will be playing in their 8th NCAA Tournament and first since 2018.
• In the WCC title game, top seed Gonzaga staved off 3-seed Santa Clara, winning 79-68. The Bulldogs will be playing in their 28th NCAA Tournament and 27th in a row.
• In the America East semis, 1-seed UMBC dominated 4-seed UMass Lowell, 91-69, and 2-seed Vermont downed 3-seed NJIT, 63-54.  When they play each other in Saturday's title game, Retrievers will be seeking their 3rd NCAA Tournament bid and first since 2018, when they became the first 16-seed to beat a 1-seed, while the Catamounts will be seeking their 11th bid and first since 2024.
• In the Big Sky semifinals, 4-seed Montana survived a second-half comeback to upset 1-seed Portland State, 75-72, and 7-seed Idaho upset 3-seed Eastern Washington, 81-68.  When they face off in tonight's championship game, the Grizzlies will be playing for their 14th trip to the Big Dance and second in a row, and the Vandals will be playing for their 5th trip and first since 1990.
• In the Southland semis, we had drama and excitement in both games, as top seed Stephen F. Austin beat 4-seed Texas A&M Corpus Christi in an exciting 60-58 game, and 2-seed McNeese outlasted 3-seed UT Rio Grande Valley, 84-80, in a triple OT thriller.  When they meet in this evening's title game, the Lumberjacks will be playing for their 6th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2018, and the Cowboys will be playing for their 5th berth and third in a row.
• In the Second Round of the SWAC, 7-seed Jackson State eked out a 68-65 win over 9-seed Grambling State, and 8-seed Prairie View A&M ousted 11-seed Alcorn State, 65-56, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the ACC, 15-seed Pittsburgh upset 10-seed Stanford, 64-63, likely ending the Cardinal's NCAA Tournament hopes, 11-seed SMU crushed 14-seed Syracuse, 86-69, and 13-seed Wake Forest beat 12-seed Virginia Tech in OT, 95-89, likely ending the Hokies' NCAA Tournament hopes, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Big 12, 9-seed Cincinnati downed 16-seed Utah, 73-66, 10-seed BYU made easy work of 15-seed Kansas State, 105-91, 14-seed Oklahoma State beat 11-seed Colorado, 92-83, and 12-seed Arizona State held off 13-seed Baylor, 83-79, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Big Ten, 15-seed Northwestern bounced 18-seed Penn State, 76-66, and 17-seed Maryland beat 16-seed Oregon, 70-60, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the C-USA, 10-seed New Mexico State took down 7-seed Jacksonville State, 68-63, and 9-seed Missouri State topped 8-seed FIU, 75-72, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• 8 conference tournaments start today, and 16 conference tournaments have games today.
• 3 conference tournaments have quarterfinals today (C-USA, MEAC, SWAC), no conference tournaments have semifinals today, and 3 conference tournaments have championship games today (Big Sky, Patriot, Southland).
