Updated Championship Week Predictions: "Don't Stop Me Now"

In honor of the Queens Royals' first-every NCAA Tournament berth, today's song is one of the all-time feel-good songs, Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now."  The regular season ended yesterday, so that means all of the remaining conference tournament schedules have now been set.  And several more top seeds went down yesterday:  A-Sun 1-seed Central Arkansas (in the title game), CAA 1-seed UNC Wilmington and 2-seed Charleston (in the quarters), Patriot League 1-seed Navy (in the semis), Big Sky 2-seed Montana State (in the quarters), and Sun Belt 2-seed Marshall (in the semis).  Madness!

Here's what happened yesterday and what we have to look forward to today:

• In the A-Sun title game, 3-seed Queens beat 1-seed Central Arkansas in an exciting 98-93 OT game, clinching the Royals' first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.
• In the Big South championship, top seed High Point pulled away from 2-seed Winthrop for a 91-76 win, giving the Panthers their 2nd NCAA Tournament berth and second in a row.
• In the MVC title game, 6-seed Northern Iowa continued its Cinderella run by beating 5-seed UIC and becoming the first team in MVC Tournament history to win four games in four days.  The Panthers will be playing in their 9th NCAA Tournament bid and first since 2016.
• In the Summit League championship, 1-seed North Dakota State took down in-state rival 3-seed North Dakota, 70-62, to earn the Bison their 5th trip to the NCAA Tournament and first since 2019.
• In the MAAC semifinals, 1-seed Merrimack held off 5-seed Marist, 58-57, while 3-seed Siena dispatched with 7-seed Fairfield, 76-61.  When they meet in Tuesday night's title game, the Warriors will be seeking their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, and the Saints will be seeking their 7th appearance and first since 2010.
• In the Patriot League semis, 4-seed Boston hit a game-winning 40-footer at the buzzer to upset top seed Navy, 73-72, and 2-seed Lehigh held off 3-seed Colgate, 76-69.  When they play in Wednesday night's title game, the Terriers will be seeking their 8th NCAA Tournament bid and first since 2011, while the Mountain Hawks will be seeking their 6th bid and first since 2012, when they upset Duke as a 15-seed.
• In the SoCon semifinals, 1-seed East Tennessee State overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to beat 5-seed Western Carolina, 69-67, and 6-seed Furman took down 7-seed UNC Greensboro, 81-75.  When they face off in tonight's championship game, the Buccaneers will be playing for their 11th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2017, and the Paladins will be playing for their 8th berth and first since 2023, when they upset Virginia in the first round as a 13-seed.
• In the Sun Belt semis, top seed Troy handled 8-seed Southern Miss, 78-70, and 10-seed Georgia Southern continued its Cinderella run with an 82-78 victory over 2-seed Marshall.  When they meet in tonight's title game, the Trojans will be seeking their 4th NCAA Tournament appearance and second in a row, and the Eagles will also be seeking their 4th appearance and first since 1992.
• In the first half of the Big Sky quarterfinals, 1-seed Portland State staved off 9-seed Idaho State, 85-78, and 7-seed Idaho upset 2-seed Montana State, 78-74, to advance to tomorrow night's semifinals.
• In the CAA quarters, we had a couple big upsets, as 9-seed Campbell took down 1-seed UNC Wilmington (which had only lost five games all season), 85-70, 7-seed Towson decimated 2-seed Charleston, 81-56, 3-seed Hofstra dominated 6-seed William & Mary, 92-61, and 4-seed Monmouth dropped 5-seed Drexel, 65-57, to advance to today's semis.
• In the WCC quarterfinals, 4-seed Oregon State pulled away late, then held on to beat 5-seed San Francisco, 78-77, and 3-seed Santa Clara kept its bubble hopes alive with a 76-68 win over 6-seed Pacific, to advance to tonight's semifinals.
• In the Second Round of the Horizon, which is effectively their quarterfinal round, 7-seed Northern Kentucky crushed 5-seed Green Bay, 96-76, to advance to tonight's semis.
• In the First Round of the Southland, 5-seed New Orleans bounced 8-seed Houston Christian, 73-60, and 6-seed Nicholls trounced 7-seed Northwestern State, 61-47, to advance to tonight's Second Round (which is the functional equivalent of the quarterfinals).
• One conference tournament starts today, and 8 conference tournaments have games today.
• 2 conference tournaments have quarterfinals today (Big Sky, Southland), 3 conference tournaments have semifinals today (CAA, Horizon, WCC), and 2 conference tournaments have championship games today (SoCon, Sun Belt).
