Thirty-five years ago today, British new wavers Wang Chung released their second studio album, Points on the Curve, which was the band's first album since changing their name from Huang Chung. It was also the band's first foray onto the pop charts in the U.S. and the UK. The album went to #30 on the Billboard album charts and #34 on the UK album charts.
It was a few years before everybody across the nation and around the world would be Wang Chunging tonight, but this album also had some hits, including "Don't Let Go," the band's first Top 40 hit in the U.S. (#38) and the more famous "Dance Hall Days," which reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Both were #1 on the U.S. Dance charts.
Since "Dance Hall Days" is the more popular of the songs, I'm going with "Don't Let Go" as this week's Retro Video of the Week, since you may not have heard this one before (or at least since Reagan was president).
