I don't have much time for a Retro Video of the Week discussion this week, but I was thinking about this video earlier today when Joe Jackson's other big song, "Is She Really Going Out With Him?," came on the radio. Until a few months ago, I never realized that this song, "Steppin' Out," was also sung by Jackson. Then I saw the video and yelled "I'll be damned!" to a very confused four-year-old. "Steppin' Out" -- which is not to be confused in any way with the songs of the same name by Memphis Slim, Cream, Kool & The Gang, Dictators, Joan Armatrading, ELO, Neil Sedaka, or Paul Revere & The Raiders -- was Jackson's biggest hit in the U.S., going up to #6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
