Updated Championship Week Predictions

Here's what happened in yesterday's Championship Week action and what we have to look forward to today:

• In the OVC semis, 1-seed Belmont dominated 4-seed Austin Peay, while 2-seed Murray State came from behind for a 76-74 win over 3-seed Jacksonville State, with Ja Morant playing for a bunch of NBA scouts, including none other than Magic Johnson.  Morant didn't disappoint, scoring 29, including the game winning old-fashioned three-point play with 8 seconds left.  They will play tonight for 2019's first automatic bid!  The Bruins will be playing for their 8th trip to the Big Dance and first since 2015, while the Racers will be playing for their 17th trip and second in a row.  There is an off-chance that the loser could get an at-large bid, depending on how some other bubble teams fare next week.
• In the Big South semis, we had our first 1-seed of this year's Championship Week go down -- just as I predicted.  Top seed Campbell fell to 4-seed Gardner-Webb, 79-74, while 2-seed Radford beat 6-seed Charleston Southern, 63-54.  When they meet in Sunday's final, the Highlanders will be playing for their 4th NCAA Tournament appearance and second in a row, and the Runnin' Bulldogs will be playing for their first ever trip to the tournament.
• In the first half of the MAAC quarterfinals, top seed Iona came down to the wire before beating 9-seed St. Peter's, 73-71, and 2-seed Canisius needed OT to get by 7-seed Manhattan.  The second half of the quarters are tonight. 
• In the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley, 1-seed Loyola began its quest for a second Final Four in a row by topping 9-seed Valparaiso.  2-seed Drake bounced 7-seed Illinois State, 3-seed Southern Illinois was upset by 6-seed Northern Iowa, and 5-seed Bradley beat 4-seed Missouri State.  The semis are today.
• In the first round of the SoCon, 7-seed Samford and 8-seed VMI advanced to today's quarterfinals.
• In the second round of the WCC, both of the lower seeds advanced.  5-seed Loyola Marymount -- still a sentimental favorite 29 years after Hank Gathers's death -- fell to 8-seed Pepperdine, and 6-seed Santa Clara was downed by 7-seed San Diego.  Both advance to tonight's de facto quarterfinals.
• Three more tourneys start today -- the America East, the Colonial, and the Summit League -- and 9 tournaments have games, including one final and 2 semis.
