Updated Championship Week Predictions: It Takes Two

Five more bids were clinched yesterday, and the better-seeded team lost in all five championship games.  Madness!  Four 2-seeds beat 1-seeds, so today's song is "It Takes Two" by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock.  Today is when things really start to get crazy.  But first, here's what happened in yesterday's Championship Week action and what we have to look forward to today:

• In the Colonial championship, 2-seed Northeastern downed top seed Hofstra, 82-74, to earn the Huskies their 9th trip to the Big Dance and first since 2015.
• In the Horizon League championship, 2-seed Northern Kentucky beat 1-seed Wright State, 77-66.  The Norse will be going to their 2nd NCAA Tournament, with the other coming in 2017.
• In the Summit League title game, 4-seed North Dakota State downed 2-seed Omaha, 73-63.  The Bison will be playing in their 4th NCAA Tournament and first since 2015.
• In the NEC championship, 2-seed Fairleigh Dickinson topped 1-seed St. Francis (PA), 85-76, in the Red Flash's own gym no less.  The Knights are going to their 6th NCAA Tournament and first since 2016.
• In the WCC final, 2-seed St. Mary's upset 1-seed Gonzaga (and the #1 team in the country), 60-47, to steal an NCAA Tournament bid from a bubble team.  The Gaels will be playing in their 10th NCAA Tournament and first since 2017.
• In the America East semis, top seed Vermont curb stomped 7-seed Binghamton, 84-51, while 3-seed UMBC needed double overtime to beat 4-seed Hartford, 90-85.  Somewhere Vin Baker is crying.  When they meet in Saturday's final, the Catamounts will be playing for their 7th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2017, while the Retrievers will be playing for their 3rd berth and second in a row.  And we know UMBC ain't scared of no 1-seed.
• In the SWAC quarterfinals, top seed Prairie View A&M, 2-seed Texas Southern, 4-seed Grambling State, and 6-seed Alabama State advanced to the semis, which are Friday.
• In the second half of the first round of the MEAC, 7-seed Coppin State and 9-seed South Carolina State won.  The first half of the quarterfinals are tonight (apologies for misreporting that the quarters began yesterday).
• In the first round of the ACC, 12-seed Miami, 14-seed Pitt, and 15-seed Notre Dame advanced to today's second round.
• In the first round of the Sun Belt, 7-seed Louisiana-Monroe and 8-seed South Alabama advance to the second round, which will be tomorrow.
• One bid is up for grabs today:  the Patriot League
• Ten more tournaments start today -- the A-10, Big 12, Big East, Big Sky, Big Ten, C-USA, Mountain West, Pac-12, SEC, and Southland -- and 13 tournaments have games, including 1 final.  We have 33 games over 14+ hours, with the first one starting at 11:30 a.m. Eastern/9:30 a.m. Mountain time in the Big Sky tournament and ending with Washington State and Oregon in the Pac-12 tournament, tipping off at 12:30 a.m. Eastern/9:30 p.m. Pacific.
