Updated Championship Week Predictions: "Where Eagles Dare"

We also had multiple top seeds go down before they should have (Big South 1-seed High Point in the semis, NEC 1-seed Central Connecticut State in the semis, OVC 1-seed Little Rock in the finals, SoCon 2-seed UNC Greensboro and 4-seed Western Carolina in the quarters, Summit 2-seed Kansas City in the quarters, and Sun Belt 3-seed Troy in the quarters), several OT games, and most importantly, our first bid clinched!  In honor of the Morehead State Eagles' OVC championship, today's song is The Misfits' "Where Eagles Dare."

Here's what happened in yesterday's action and what we have to look forward to:

• In the OVC championship game, 3-seed Morehead State took down 1-seed Little Rock, 69-55 to clinch the Eagles 9th NCAA Tournament berth and fist since 2021.
• In the Big South semis, we had two OT games, as 5-seed Longwood upset 1-seed High Point, 80-79 in OT, and 2-seed UNC Asheville beat 3-seed Gardner-Webb, 83-72 in OT.  When they play in today's title game, the Lancers will be seeking their 2nd NCAA Tournament bid and first since 2022, while the Bulldogs will be seeking their 6th bid and second in a row.
• In the MVC semifinals, top seed Indiana State demolished 4-seed Northern Iowa, 94-72, and 2-seed Drake held off 3-seed Bradley, 72-67.  When they face off in this afternoon's championship game, the Sycamores will be playing for their 5th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2011 (though they may have played themselves into an at-large bid either way), and the Bulldogs (who are firmly on the bubble) will be playing for their 7th berth and second in a row.
• In the NEC semis, 6-seed Wagner toppled 1-seed Central Connecticut State, 66-56, and 2-seed Merrimack downed 4-seed Le Moyne, 61-51.  When they meet in Tuesday's night's title game, the Seahawks will be seeking their 2nd NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2003, while the Warriors will be seeking their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance (as this is their first year of eligibility since transitioning to D-1).
• In the America East quarters, things went chalk, with top seed Vermont eking by 8-seed Albany, 75-72, 2-seed UMass Lowell needing OT to get by 7-seed UMBC, 94-89, 3-seed Bryant crushing 6-seed Maine, 84-58, and 4-seed New Hampshire bouncing 5-seed Binghamton, 77-64, to advance to Tuesday's semifinals.
• In the SoCon quarterfinals, 1-seed Samford beat 8-seed Mercer, 70-57, 7-seed East Tennessee State upset 2-seed UNC Greensboro, 73-62, 3-seed Chattanooga dropped 6-seed Wofford, 75-57, and 5-seed Furman beat 4-seed Western Carolina, 79-76 in OT, to advance to today's semis.
• In the first half of the Summit quarters, top seed South Dakota State bounced 8-seed Oral Roberts, 79-63, and 7-seed Denver upset 2-seed Kansas City, 61-60, to advance to tomorrow's semifinals.
• In the Sun Belt quarterfinals, 1-seed Appalachian State had to play bonus basketball to beat 9-seed Georgia Southern, 85-80 in OT, 2-seed James Madison beat 10-seed Marshall, 81-64, 11-seed Texas State upset 3-seed Troy, 74-68, and 4-seed Arkansas State destroyed 5-seed Louisiana, 89-62, to advance to today's semis.
• In the quarterfinals of the WCC, 3-seed San Francisco made easy work of 6-seed Portland, 72-51, and 4-seed Santa Clara demolished 5-seed San Diego, 104-79, to advance to tomorrow's semifinals.
• In the Second Round of the CAA, 5-seed Towson took down 13-seed William & Mary, 67-56, 6-seed Delaware destroyed 14-seed Hampton, 80-50, 7-seed Stony Brook beat 10-seed Northeastern, 75-65, and 8-seed Monmouth crushed 9-seed Campbell, 90-67, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Big Sky, 8-seed Idaho State upended 7-seed Northern Arizona, 68-60, and 10-seed Sacramento State beat 9-seed Idaho, 72-64, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• One conference tournament starts today (Southland), and ten conference tournaments have games today.
• Three conference tournaments have title games today (A-Sun, Big South, MVC), three conference tournaments have semifinals today (Patriot, SoCon, Sun Belt), and three conference tournaments have quarterfinals today (Big Sky, CAA, Summit).
