Updated Championship Week Predictions: "It's Now Or Never"

Today's Championship Week theme song is Elvis Presley's "It's Now Or Never," as we have a whole lotta bubble teams playing today, some of them playing another bubble team -- a double bubble, if you will.  Today, we have 61 (!) games over the course of about 15 hours, beginning with Central Michigan and Toledo in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament tipping off at 11:00 a.m. Eastern, and ending with several games tipping off at 11:30 p.m. Eastern.

Here's what happened in yesterday's action:

• In the Patriot League title game, 1-seed Colgate led the entire game, beating 2-seed Navy, 74-58, clinching the Raiders' 5th NCAA Tournament appearance and second in a row.
• In the America East semis, the top two seeds dominated, with 1-seed Vermont beating 6-seed Binghamton, 74-42, and 2-seed UMBC topping 4-seed Hartford, 80-60.  When they meet in Saturday's final, the Catamounts will be playing for their 8th trip to the Big Dance and first since 2019, and the Retrievers will be playing for their 3rd, trip and first since 2018, when they became the first 16-seed in NCAA Tournament history to beat a 1-seed (Virginia).
• In the first half of the MAAC quarterfinals, top seed Iona, who went 17-3 in conference play and was a potential pick for an upset in the NCAA Tournament was upset by 9-seed Rider, 71-70, while 2-seed St. Peter's beat up on 7-seed Fairfield, 77-63, to advance to Friday's semifinals.
• In the first half of the MEAC quarterfinals, 1-seed Norfolk State beat 8-seed Delaware State, 74-66, and 7-seed Coppin State upset 2-seed Howard, 59-57, to advance to Friday's semifinals.
• In the first half of the SWAC quarterfinals, top seed Alcorn State survived a scare, beating 8-seed Prairie View A&M in OT, 64-63, on a free throw with 1.6 seconds left, and 2-seed Texas Southern held off 7-seed Jackson State, 54-50, to advance to Friday's semifinals.
• In the Second Round of the ACC, 13-seed Boston College upset 5-seed and bubble team Wake Forest in OT, 82-77, 6-seed Virginia eked out a 51-50 win over 11-seed Louisville, 7-seed Virginia Tech kept its NCAA Tournament hopes alive thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer in overtime to beat 10-seed Clemson, 76-76, and 9-seed Syracuse crushed 8-seed Florida State, 96-57, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the Second Round of Conference USA, West 3-seed Louisiana Tech beat East 7-seed Marshall, 77-67, East 3-seed FAU crushed West 7-seed Southern Miss, 86-59, West 4-seed UTEP downed East 5-seed Old Dominion, 74-64, and West 5-seed Rice topped East 4-seed Charlotte, 73-61, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the Second Round of the WAC, 5-seed Sam Houston State trounced 8-seed Cal Baptist, 65-35, and 6-seed Abilene Christian beat 7-seed Utah Valley, 82-74 to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the A-10, 11-seed Rhode Island squeaked by 14-seed Duquesne, 79-77, and 12-seed LaSalle beat 13-seed St. Joseph's, 63-56, to advance to today's second round.
• In the lone game in the First Round of the Big 12, 9-seed West Virginia beat 8-seed Kansas State, 73-67, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Big East, 6-seed Seton Hall outscored 11-seed Georgetown 11-3 to end the game and win 57-53, 7-seed St. John's took down 10-seed DePaul, and 9-seed Butler topped bubble team 8-seed Xavier, 89-82 in OT, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Big Sky, 6-seed Eastern Washington held off 11-seed Northern Arizona, 78-75, 7-seed Portland State beat 10-seed Idaho State, 66-52, and 8-seed Sacramento State beat 9-seed Idaho, 57-54, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Big Ten, 11-seed Penn State held off 14-seed Minnesota, 60-51, and 12-seed Northwestern beat 13-seed Nebraska, 71-69, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Mountain West, 6-seed Fresno State escaped 11-seed San Jose State with a 69-67 overtime win, 7-seed Utah State destroyed 10-seed Air Force, 83-56, and 8-seed Nevada downed 9-seed New Mexico, 79-72, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Pac-12, 5-seed Oregon beat 12-seed Oregon State, 86-72, 6-seed Washington beat 11-seed Utah, 82-70, 7-seed Washington State ousted 10-seed Cal, 66-59, and in one of the most exciting games of the day, 9-seed Stanford went on a 16-1 run in the final 2:45 of the game and got a buzzer beating short basket to beat 8-seed Arizona State, 71-70, and keep their NIT hopes alive, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the SEC, 11-seed Vanderbilt ended 14-seed Georgia's horrendous season with a 86-51 mercy killing, and 12-seed Missouri knocked out 13-seed Ole Miss, 72-60, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Southland, 5-seed Houston Baptist downed 8-seed Incarnate Word, 74-64, and 7-seed McNeese State beat 6-seed Northwestern State, 80-67, to advance to today's second round, which effectively acts as the quarterfinals.
• Two conference tournaments start today (AAC, MAC), and 18 conference tournaments have games today, none with finals or semis, but 13 with quarterfinals (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Sky, Big West, C-USA, MAAC, MAC, MEAC, Mountain West, Pac-12, SWAC, WAC).  All of the remaining championship games are on Saturday or Sunday.
