Updated Championship Week Predictions: "Fighting My Way Back"

Today's Championship Week theme song is Thin Lizzy's "Fighting My Way Back," in honor of the brawl at the Bryant/Wagner game and the fact that several schools fought their way back to the NCAA Tournament last night by clinching bids for the first time in several years.  Yesterday, we had six bid clinched.  Today, we have 41 games over the course of over 14 hours, beginning with Idaho and Sacramento State in the First Round of the Big Sky Tournament tipping off at 11:30 a.m. Eastern, and ending with Abilene Christian and Utah Valley in the Second Round of the WAC Tournament and Utah and Washington in the First Round of the Pac-12 Tournament, both tipping off at 11:30 p.m. Eastern.

Here's what happened in yesterday's action:

• In the A-Sun title game, West 2-seed Bellarmine beat East 2-seed Jacksonville, 77-72, but because the Knights are still in the transition period from Division II, they are ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, becoming the first team in 25 years to win its conference tournament while being ineligible for the NCAA Tournament.  As a result, the A-Sun's regular season champ, Jacksonville State (not to be confused with Jacksonville, who Bellarmine beat) will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.  It will be the Gamecocks' 2nd NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2017.
• In the CAA championship game, 5-seed Delaware beat 2-seed UNC Wilmington in an exciting 59-55 game, giving the Fightin' Blue Hens their 6th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2014.
• In the Horizon final, 4-seed Wright State came back from a double-digit second-half deficit to beat 3-seed Northern Kentucky, 72-21.  The Raiders will be playing in their 4th Big Dance and first since 2018.
• In the NEC title game, 1-seed Bryant crushed 2-seed Wagner, 70-43, in a game that was marred by melee between Bryant fans and Wagner fans with less than five minutes in the game, right behind the Wagner bench.  The game was suspended for 25 minutes, both teams went back to their locker rooms, and some fans were ejected, including basically all of the Wagner fans.  The Bulldogs earned their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, and with it, Rhode Island becomes the 21st state in which every Division 1 men's basketball program has made the NCAA Tournament, joining Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
• In the Summit championship game, 1-seed South Dakota State beat 2-seed North Dakota State, 75-69, to earn the Jackrabbits their 21st win in a row and 6th NCAA Tournament bid and first since 2018.  Look out for them in the NCAA Tournament.
• In the WCC title game, top seed Gonzaga pulled away late to top 2-seed St. Mary's, 82-69.  The Bulldogs will be playing in their 24th NCAA Tournament and second in a row.
• In the First Round of the ACC, 10-seed Clemson beat 15-seed NC State, 70-64, 11-seed Louisville beat 14-seed Georgia Tech, 84-74, and 13-seed Boston College dominated 12-seed Pitt, 66-46, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Big West, 7-seed UC Davis beat 10-seed Cal Poly, 63-53, and 9-seed Cal State Bakersfield downed 8-seed Cal State Northridge, 58-45, to advance to tomorrow's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of Conference USA, West 7-seed Southern Mississippi beat West 6-seed UTSA, 67-64, and East 7-seed Marshall beat East 6-seed FIU, 74-62, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the MAAC, 11-seed Quinnipiac upset 6-seed Marist in convincing fashion, 77-52, 7-seed Fairfield dominated 10-seed Canisius, 72-50, and 9-seed Rider downed 8-seed Manhattan, 79-67, to advance to today's and tomorrow's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity WAC, 7-seed Utah Valley beat up on 10-seed Chicago State, 69-47, and 8-seed Cal Baptist beat 9-seed UT Rio Grande Valley, 81-80, to advance to today's second round.
• 11 conference tournaments start today (A-10, Big 12, Big East, Big Sky, Big Ten, MEAC, Mountain West, Pac-12, SEC, Southland, SWAC), and 17 conference tournaments have games today, including one final (Patriot), one with semifinals (America East), and three with quarterfinals (MAAC, MEAC, SWAC).
