Updated Championship Week Predictions: Virtual Insanity

Today's Championship Week theme song is Jamiroquai's pleasantly funky "Virtual Insanity" because yesterday we had some upsets, my friends!  And today and tomorrow are when we are going to see our most action.  It will be "virtual" insanity because it's not actually clinically diagnosed mental illness.  Today, there are 59 games over more than 14 hours, starting with the tip off of the Ball State/Toledo game in the MAC quarterfinals at 11 a.m. Eastern and ending with two games that tip off at 11:30 p.m. Eastern, the Colorado/Cal game in the Pac-12 quarterfinals and the Colorado State/Fresno State in the Mountain West quarterfinals.  Please note that, for the bubble teams below, my definition of "the bubble" is any team that's listed in ESPN's Bubble Watch that isn't a "lock."  Of course, there are other teams that may play themselves onto the bubble as the week progresses.

Here's what happened in yesterday's action and what we have to look forward to today:

• In the Patriot League semifinals, 2-seed Colgate demolished 6-seed Bucknell, 105-95, and 9-seed Loyola (MD) ended 4-seed Army's dreams of making its first NCAA Tournament, handing the Black Knights a 67-63 loss.  When they face off in Sunday's final, the Raiders will be playing for their 4th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2019, and the Greyhounds will be playing for their 3rd berth and first since 2012.
• In the first day of the quarterfinals of the MAAC, the top two seeds went down!  Top seed Siena fell to 9-seed Iona -- who, if you didn't know, is coached by Rick Pitino -- 55-52, and 7-seed Fairfield upset 2-seed Monmouth, 79-60, to advance to tomorrow's semifinals.
• In the first half of the SWAC quarterfinals, 1-seed Prairie View A&M dominated 8-seed Mississippi Valley State, 91-64, and 2-seed Jackson State beat 7-seed Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 74-62, to advance to tomorrow's semifinals.
• In the Second Round of the ACC, we had our first major conference upset, as 13-seed Miami beat 5-seed Clemson, 67-64.  The Hurricanes have now won three games in a row (including their final regular season game) after going losing 10 of their previous 11 games.  Elsewhere, 10-seed Duke kept its NCAA Tournament hopes alive with a 70-56 win over 7-seed Louisville, 6-seed North Carolina routed 11-seed Notre Dame, 101-59, and 8-seed Syracuse pummeled 9-seed NC State, 89-68, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the Second Round of Conference USA, West 4-seed UTSA topped East 5-seed Charlotte, 72-62, West 6-seed Rice upset East 3-seed Marshall, 72-68, East 4-seed FAU beat West 5-seed UTEP, 76-70, and West 3-seed North Texas beat up on East 6-seed Middle Tennessee State, 76-56, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the Second Round of the Southland, 5-seed New Orleans beat 8-seed Southeast Louisiana, 80-63.  Somewhere, Ervin Johnson (but not Earvin Johnson) is dancing.  Also, 6-seed Lamar took care of 10-seed Houston Baptist, 62-52.  They will advance to tonight's third round, which is effectively the quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Big 12, 7-seed Oklahoma held off 10-seed Iowa State, 79-73, and 9-seed Kansas State beat up on 8-seed TCU, 71-50, to advance to today's quarterfinals.  
• In the First Round of the Big East, the bottom two seeds will be moving on, as 11-seed DePaul beat 6-seed Providence, 70-62, and 10-seed Butler upset 7-seed Xavier with a 70-69 OT win, likely relegating the Musketeers to the NIT.  In the other game, 8-seed Georgetown toppled 9-seed Marquette, 68-49.  The quarterfinals are today.
• In the First Round of the Big Sky, 6-seed Montana beat 11-seed Idaho, 69-64, 10-seed Northern Arizona downed 7-seed Portland State, 77-66, 8-seed Northern Colorado beat 9-seed Sacramento State, 90-83, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Big Ten, 11-seed Penn State beat 14-seed Nebraska, 72-66, and 13-seed Minnesota beat 12-seed Northwestern to 50 with a 51-46 win, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Mountain West, 6-seed Fresno State beat 11-seed New Mexico, 85-77, 7-seed UNLV crushed 10-seed Air Force, 80-52, and 8-seed Wyoming destroyed 9-seed San Jose State, 111-80, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the Pac-12, 6-seed Stanford was upset by 11-seed Cal, 76-58, 7-seed Utah escaped 10-seed Washington, 98-95, and 8-seed Arizona State fended off 9-seed Washington State, 64-59, to advance to today's quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the SEC, there was one lonely game, and 12-seed Vanderbilt beat 13-seed Texas A&M, 79-68, to advance to today's second round.
• The remaining 4 conference tournaments start today -- the AAC, miggity-miggity-miggity-miggity-miggity-miggity MAC, MEAC, and wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity WAC (which I mistakenly thought started yesterday) -- and 17 conference tournaments have games today.  There are no championship games until Saturday and no semifinals today, but 14 of the 17 tournaments playing today have quarterfinals.
