Updated Championship Week Predictions: "Hey Bulldog"

Today's Championship Week theme song is The Beatles' "Hey Bulldog" because we had two teams whose mascot is the Bulldogs clinch bids to the Big Dance today.  I wasn't able to post this morning, so today's update will take us through what has happened today as of this posting.

Here's what happened yesterday, today so far, and what we have to look forward to:

• In the OVC title game yesterday, 5-seed Southeast Missouri State and 2-seed Tennessee Tech  went to OT to decide the year's first bid to the Big Dance.  SEMO came out on top, with an 89-82 win, clinching the Redhawks' 2nd NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2000.
• In the A-Sun title game today, 1-seed Kennesaw State hit a free throw with 0.7 seconds left to pull out a 67-66 win over 2-seed Liberty, giving the Owls their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth.
• In the Big South title game today, top seed UNC Asheville came back from a 14-point second half deficit to beat 7-seed Campbell, 77-73, to clinch the Bulldogs' 5th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2016.
• In the MVC title game today, 2-seed Drake dominated top seed Bradley, 77-51, to send the Bulldogs to their 6th NCAA Tournament and first since 2021.
• In the NEC semis yesterday, 1-seed Merrimack topped 4-seed Sacred Heart, 71-60, and 2-seed Fairleigh Dickinson crushed 3-seed St. Francis (PA), 70-50.  Merrimack is ineligible for the NCAA Tournament because it is still in the transition period from Division II, so Fairleigh Dickinson will receive the NEC's automatic bid, regardless of what happens in Tuesday's championship game.  The Knights will be playing in their 7th NCAA Tournament and first since 2019.
• In the America East quarterfinals yesterday, top seed Vermont destroyed 8-seed NJIT, 84-57, 2-seed UMass Lowell dominated 7-seed Main, 85-54, 3-seed New Hampshire beat 6-seed Bryant, 67-60, and 5-seed Binghamton topped 4-seed UMBC, 67-65, to advance to Tuesday's semis.
• In the SoCon quarters yesterday, two of the top three seeds fell.  1-seed Furman beat 8-seed Mercer, 73-58, but 2-seed Samford fell to 7-seed Chattanooga, 85-82, and 6-seed Wofford upset 3-seed UNC Greensboro, while 4-seed Western Carolina beat 5-seed ETSU, to advance to today's semis.
• In the first half of the Summit quarterfinals yesterday, top seed Oral Roberts beat 9-seed North Dakota, 96-80, and 2-seed South Dakota State beat 10-seed Omaha, 63-55, to advance to tomorrow's semis.
• In the Sun Belt quarterfinals yesterday, 1-seed Southern Miss was crushed by 8-seed South Alabama, 76-61, 2-seed Louisiana beat up on 7-seed Georgia Southern, 67-49, 11-seed Texas State upset 3-seed Marshall, 71-68, and 4-seed James Madison beat 5-seed Troy, 75-72, to advance to today's semifinals.
• In the Third Round of the WCC yesterday, which is effectively the quarterfinals, 5-seed BYU beat 4-seed Loyola Marymount, 73-63, and 6-seed San Francisco outlasted 3-seed Santa Clara in double overtime, 93-87, to advance to tomorrow's semifinals.
• In the Second Round of the CAA yesterday, 5-seed Drexel trounced 13-seed Monmouth, 64-45, 6-seed Delaware beat 11-seed Northeastern in OT, 77-74, 10-seed Stony Brook topped 7-seed North Carolina A&T, 76-61, and 8-seed William & Mary bounced 9-seed Elon, 73-51, to advance to today's quarters.
• In the First Round of the Big Sky, 8-seed Northern Colorado beat 7-seed Portland State, 84-80, and 9-seed Northern Arizona downed 10-seed Idaho, to advance to the quarterfinals, which are split between today and tomorrow.
• One more conference tournament starts today (Southland), and a total of 10 conference tournaments have games today.
• Three bids are up for grabs today (A-Sun, Big South, MVC), while three conference tournaments have semifinals today (Patriot, SoCon, Sun Belt) and three have quarterfinals (Big Sky, CAA, Summit).
