Updated Championship Week Predictions

Here's what happened in yesterday's Championship Week action:

• In the OVC championship game, top seed Murray State beat 2-seed Belmont for the Racers' 13th win in a row (the longest active streak in the nation) and the first automatic bid to the Big Dance of 2018.  They will be playing for in 16th NCAA Tournament and first since 2012.
• In the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament, 5-seed Michigan upset rival and 1-seed Michigan State, while 3-seed Purdue beat 7-seed Penn State.  Michigan has a chance to become the first school to win back-to-back Big Ten Tournaments since Ohio State in 2010 and 2011.  Both teams should be locks to make the NCAA Tournament.  The Wolverines will be going to their 28th NCAA Tournament, while Purdue will be going to their 30th NCAA Tournament -- none of which have resulted in a national title.
• In the all-Illinois MVC semis, 1-seed Loyola (IL) survived a scare from 5-seed Bradley, while 2-seed Southern Illinois fell to 3-seed Illinois State.  They will be playing today for the title.  The Ramblers will be playing for their 6th NCAA Tournament and first since 1985, and the Redbirds will be playing for their 7th NCAA Tournament and first since 1998.
• In the NEC semis, top seed Wagner and 4-seed LIU-Brooklyn advanced to Tuesday night's borough bragging rights championship game at Wagner's home gym on Staten Island.  The Seahawks will be playing for their 2nd NCAA Tournament and first since 2003, while the Blackbirds will be playing for their 7th NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2013.
• Another 1-seed has gone down!  In the first half of the Horizon League quarterfinals, top seed and defending champ Northern Kentucky was upset by 8-seed Cleveland State, while 2-seed Wright State beat Green Bay.
• In the WCC quarters, the top four seeds -- Gonzaga, St. Mary's, BYU, and San Francisco -- all advanced, although 2-seed St. Mary's got a bit of a scare from 7-seed Pepperdine.
• In the America East quarterfinals, 1-seed Vermont, 2-seed UMBC, 3-seed Hartford, and 5-seed Stony Brook advanced to the semis.  The story was the same in the quarterfinals of the SoCon, as 1-seed UNC Greensboro, 2-seed East Tennessee State, 3-seed Furman, and 5-seed Wofford advanced to the semis.
• In the second half of the MAAC quarterfinals, 6-seed Fairfield upset the top remaining team, 3-seed Niagara.  Meanwhile 4-seed Iona beat 5-seed Manhattan, meaning the Gaels are now the highest-remaining seed in the MAAC Tournament.
• In the first half of the Summit League quarters, it was a sweep for the Mount Rushmore State, as top seed South Dakota State beat 8-seed Western Illinois, and 2-seed South Dakota trounced 7-seed Omaha.
• In the first round of the CAA, 7-seed Drexel and 8-seed Delaware punched their tickets to the quarterfinals.
• No tournaments start today, but 10 conference tournaments have games today, and 4 bids to the Big Dance are up for grabs today.
