VOTE NOW: Coolest American Man of the Last 100 Years - "Play-In" Spots

We are at the point where we will now be voting on the Coolest American Man of the last 100 years.  In case, you don't know what I'm talking about, click here and read all about it.

Here is going to be the revised voting schedule:
January 9-13:  "Play-In" voting for 7th and 8th seeds
January 14-16:  Round of 32
January 17-19:  Sweet 16
January 20-22:  Elite 8
January 23-25:  Semifinals
January 26-28:  Finals
January 29-31:  Living champ vs. Dead champ

After taking many suggestions from many of you, and then disregarding and accepting many of them, and then debating endlessly, the Brothers Weeser* (minus Tim, of course) and I have narrowed it and seeded it -- well, kind of.  We need your help to determine the 7- and 8-seeds in each of the brackets because we couldn't come to a reasonable consensus.

Here's what we did.  We took our suggestions and your suggestions in each bracket -- living and dead brackets for Athletes, Hollywood, Music, and Other.  For some brackets, we had over 30 contenders, and for others, fewer than 15.  The three of us each ranked our top 8, and then we averaged the scores.  For any man who was ranked by some of us, but not others, we used a 9 for purposes of averaging for those of us who did not rank the man in the top 8 (i.e., if I ranked someone 7, Dan ranked someone 8, and Greg did not rank that man, then we used a 9 for Greg's ranking of that man, for an average of 8).

We then took the averages and ranked them 1 to 8 in each bracket.  Because there was a bit of variety in who we were ranking, we had a lot of ties for the last few slots in most brackets, which spilled over into the 9th or 10th spots as well.  As a result, we decided to let you all decide those 7th and 8th spots in each bracket.  Rather than limit voting to just those tied for the last spot or two, we are including every man that at least one of us had in out Top 8 that didn't end up being in the top 6 when we averaged the scores -- although in some brackets, there was a tie for 6th, 7th, and 8th, so you'll be deciding three spots.  We're not going to tell you which ones those are, and we're not going to tell you who the top 6 in each bracket are just yet.

For now, your only job is to vote on which of the following men should be included in the Coolest American Man of the Last 100 Years bracket.  We're just going to put everyone in alphabetical order, so you don't know where our heads are at. Here are the polls. You have until 11:30 p.m. Central January 13 to vote. Go!
