In the fall of 1977, one of the oddest Christmas song pairings was assembled, as then-30-year-old androgynous glam rocker David Bowie and then-74-year-old crooner and notorious alcoholic child beater Bing Crosby -- a mere month before his death -- teamed up for a TV Christmas special called Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas. They sang "Little Drummer Boy," which Bowie was apparently not a fan of, and then a song written specifically for the show called "Peace on Earth." Of course, they have some scripted "I don't know who you are because you're [old/young]" dialogue before breaking into song. It's really quite a surreal little clip, and I'd venture to say it's one of the creepiest mainstream Christmas songs ever recorded.
