Retro Video of the Week: "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" by Backstreet Boys

Friday marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Backstreet Boys' self-titled compilation album, which was actually the first album the band released in the U.S., despite having released two studio albums internationally.  If you've seen the Netflix series This is Pop, you know that this was mainly produced and written by various Swedes, who essentially dominated pop music from behind the scenes for much of the late '90s and '00s.

But anyway, the album -- which, for better or worse, ushered in the "boy band era" -- featured many of what would become the group's hit songs, including "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," "As Long As You Love Me," "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," and "All I Have to Give."  What I learned today whilst looking at the group's discography may shock you:  Backstreet Boys never had a #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Anywho, I went with "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," mainly because some of my friends used to do a drunken routine to this song, much to everyone's delight.
