Retro Video of the Week: "Your Love" by The Outfield

After perusing any potential musical releases or events that happened this week 20, 25, or 30 years ago, there wasn't much of anything, so I'm just going to go with one of the most-loved songs from the '80s for the first Retro Video of the Week of this new decade:  The Outfield's 1985 hit, "Your Love."

The song was off of the band's debut album, Play Deep, which produced three charting songs in on the Billboard Hot 100:  "Your Love" (#6), "All the Love in the World" (#19), and "Everytime You Cry" (#66).  Of course, "Your Love" starts off with that iconic first line, "Josie's on a vacation far away," which you probably recognize even if you don't know the name of the song or the band.  The song is a fictional account of an affair that the narrator has while his girlfriend, Josie, is away on vacation. Amazingly, it was written in only twenty minutes by the band's guitarist, John Spinks, and vocalist, Tony Lewis. I'd say they had a more productive third of an hour than most of us have ever had.
