CoronaVinyl Day 83 ('70s Soundtrack): Live and Let Die

For an explanation of CoronaVinyl, click here.
Today's CoronaVinyl category is '70s soundtrack. I only have a couple that fit the bill, and I've already featured Curtis Mayfield's fantastic 1972 soundtrack to Super Fly, so I'm going with the soundtrack from the 1973 James Bond classic Live and Let Die.  If you haven't seen the movie, it's predictably exciting, and it was the first in which Roger Moore starred as James Bond and the first time James Bond was romantically involved with an African-American woman.

The soundtrack was scored by famed Beatles producer George Martin, and Paul and Linda McCartney were tapped to write the film's theme song -- also titled "Live and Let Die" -- and Wings performed the song.  However, other than the title track on Side 1 and a soul reprise of the title track by B.J. Arnau on Side 2, the soundtrack is mostly just standard movie score.  Spotify didn't have the soundtrack, or at least I couldn't find it, so I embedded a YouTube playlist that hopefully does the trick.

Favorite song from Side 1:  "Live and Let Die"
The title track is a classic, and it has remained a regular in McCartney's set lists to this day.  The song was an international success, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, #2 on the Canadian pop chart, #5 in Australia, and #9 in the UK. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but lost out to Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were," from the film of the same name.

Favorite song from Side 2:  "Fillet of Soul"
Side 2 of of the album has the aforementioned B.J. Arnau version of "Live and Let Die," and other than that, it's just movie music.  However, "Fillet of Soul" is a bit of a break from the rest of the side.  It's just some funky, love-making music.
