1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die

So Jester and I were at the Crate and Barrel outlet store over on Clybourn the other day, shopping for God knows what, and I saw a book of interest sitting on the shelf, beckoning me: 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die by Robert Dimery. It was $26.95, so I passed, but it definitely – and immediately – made me take stock in my life and music collection. Thus, I set out to use the "internet" to find the list.

The list begins in the 1950s and originally continued through 2006. It was revised in 2007 to include a few more albums, so I suppose it now is more than 1,001. And whatever list I copied must not have been complete because it only had 998 before I added the latest additions.

Anyway, here's the list, and the bolded ones are the ones I currently own in their entirety (whether in CD, tape, vinyl, or digital format).
