This week's COVID-themed Retro Video of the Week comes courtesy of Irish pop rock siblings The Corrs and their 2000 hit "Breathless." Co-written by the Corrs and legendary producer Mutt Lange, "Breathless" was an international hit. While the song only went to #34 on the Billboard Hot 100, it made it into the Top 10 on the pop charts in 14 other countries, going #1 in the UK, Czech Republic, Poland, and Scotland.
I've always thought The Corrs and Coors should have entered into some sort of sponsorship relationship.
The Corrs walk into a bar.
Andrea Corr: "How about Coors?"
Stupid American bartender: "Are you saying Corrs or Coors?"
Caroline Corr: "Sometimes with an Irish brogue it may be difficult to tell the difference."
Sharon Corr: "But rest assured, The Corrs love Coors."
Jim Corr: "Of course we do." (with the "course" drawn out to sound like Coors)
Everyone laughs, they cheers their frosty mugs of draft Coors Light, and the bartender just shakes his head with a big shit-eating grin.
For COVID purposes, one of the tell-tale signs of the coronavirus is that it leaves you breathless. If you don't want to get COVID, wear a mask, socially distance, and steer clear of universities, fraternity parties, and southern states.
