New Poll: Old School vs. The Hangover

It's been a while since I've had a poll, mostly due to laziness. No more! Saturday night, several of us had a bit of a debate. Morgan, who is insane, said that The Hangover is a better comedy than Old School. Hans, who is relatively sane, disagreed. A small verbal dispute ensued, and the table was split down the middle.

Both movies are hilarious. We compared characters:
-Main straight character: Luke Wilson vs. Bradley Cooper
-Wild card character: Will Farrell vs. Zack Galifianakis
-Other main character: Vince Vaughan vs. Ed Helms
-Hilarious old man: Blue vs. the Asian guy
-Threatening authority-type figure: Jeremy Piven vs. Mike Tyson

Both had insanely wonderful premises : A fraternity for men of all ages vs. Losing the bachelor on a bachelor party in Vegas.
And both had great wedding reception scenes: The Dan Band/speeches vs. The photos.

It's a tough call. The only way to settle a debate like this is to put it to vote by the readers of a relatively obscure blog. Have at it, my fine readers. Which do you think is a better comedy, Old School or The Hangover?

the movies are actually practically the same. same director even, i think.

both movies use a chaotic, booze-laden atmosphere--frat life in Old School, and a bachelor party in The Hangover--as a premise to unfurl a whole host of bizarre happenings.

In Old School it was Will Farrell (weird guy who does and says weird things), the elderly Blue (excuse to play stereotypes of his primary quality, old age), Elisha Cuthbert (the jailbait daughter of Luke Wilson's boss), Farrell streaking, Snoop Dogg, Farrell's answering the debate question correctly right when they need it, and KY wrestling.

In The Hangover--in the same order of their function in the film--it's Zack (weird guy who does and says weird things), Black Doug (excuse to play off his primary quality, blackness), Heather Graham (single mother wearing Ed Helms' prized ring), Zack being pantsless, Mike Tyson, Zack's winning tons of cash counting cards at blackjack right when they need it, and the naked Asian.

"Old School", no contest.

NUDITY: Naked KY Jelly Wrestlers vs. Naked Asian Dude

CAMEOS: Snoop vs. Tyson

USEFUL CATCH PHRASE: "It feels so good when it hits your lips" vs. "Paging Dr. Faggot"

While Old School loses points for casting Ellen Pompeo, it gets them back with interest from Elisha Cuthbert.

Old School was hilarious. But not liveable/believable. The Hangover was amazing as a movie.
Oh, and I might have experienced a Hangover moment myself...
