Updated Championship Week Predictions: "Flash"

Today's Championship Week song is Queen's "Flash," the theme song to the 1980 superhero movie Flash Gordon.  Because the St. Francis Red Flash won the NEC and are going dancing for the first time since George Herbert Walker Bush was president.

All remaining conference tournaments aside from the MAC and Ivy League start today, so now is when shit really starts to get crazy.  Today, from the start of the Richmond/Davidson game in the first round of the A-10 Tournament at 11:30 a.m. ET to the end of the three games that tip off at 11:30 p.m. ET, we have 40 games across 17 conference tournaments, spanning around 14 hours.  I don't know how people get a normal night's sleep in March.

Here's what happened yesterday and what we have to look forward to today:

• In the CAA title game, 2-seed UNC Wilmington ended 12-seed Delaware's Cinderella run, in an exciting a 76-72 game. The Seahawks will be playing in their 7th NCAA Tournament and first since 2017.
• In the Horizon championship, 1-seed Robert Morris held off 4-seed Youngstown State, 89-78, to clinch the Colonials' 9th trip to the Big Dance and first since 2015.
• In the NEC title game, 3-seet St. Francis (PA) beat 1-seed Central Connecticut State in a 46-43 rock fight, giving the Red Flash their second-ever NCAA Tournament berth and first since 1991.
• In the WCC championship game, 2-seed Gonzaga knocked off top seed St. Mary's, 58-51. The Bulldogs will be playing in their 27th NCAA Tournament and 26th in a row, which is tied for the third-longest streak in NCAA Tournament history (though they are tied with Michigan State, who also has a current streak of 26 NCAA Tournaments in a row and will be making it 27 this year).
• In the America East semifinals, top seed Bryant took down 4-seed Albany, 91-78, and 3-seed Maine handled 2-seed Vermont, 57-42.  When they match up in Saturday's title game, the Bulldogs will be seeking their 2nd NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2022, and the Black Bears (who are playing their first America East title game since 2004) will be seeking their first-ever berth.
• In the Big Sky semis, 1-seed Northern Colorado annihilated 5-seed Montana State, 72-45, and 2-seed Montana throttled 6-seed Idaho, 78-55, to advance to tonight's championship game, where the Bears will be playing for their 2nd NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2011 (though that was vacated by the NCAA), while the Grizzlies will be playing for their 13th appearance and first since 2019.
• In the Southland semifinals, 1-seed McNeese dominated 4-seed Northwestern State, 83-64, and 2-seed Lamar beat 3-seed Nicholls, 58-55 in a back-and-forth battle.  When they meet in this evening's title game, the Cowboys will be playing for their 4th NCAA Tournament appearance and second in a row, and the Cardinals will be playing for their 7th appearance and first since 2012.
• In the First Round of the ACC, 15-seed Cal upset 10-seed Virginia Tech, 82-73, in an exciting double overtime affair, 14-seed Syracuse downed 11-seed Florida State, 66-62, and 12-seed Notre Dame made a free thrown with less than a second left to beat 13-seed Pitt, 55-54, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the Big 12, 16-seed Colorado became the first 16-seed to ever win a conference tournament game (or so I assume), upsetting 9-seed TCU, 69-67, 10-seed Kansas State dropped 15-seed Arizona State, 71-66, 13-seed Cincinnati kept its NCAA Tournament hopes alive with a convincing 87-68 win over 12-seed Oklahoma State, and 14-seed UCF soundly defeated 11-seed Utah, 87-72, to advance to today's second round.
• In the First Round of the C-USA, 10-seed FIU upset 7-seed Western Kentucky, 64-61, and 8-seed UTEP dropped 9-seed Sam Houston State, 79-65, to advance to tonight's first half of the quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the MAAC, 7-seed Sacred Heart topped 10-seed Fairfield, 71-58, and 8-seed Rider got a layup at the buzzer to beat 9-seed Siena, 78-76, to advance to tonight's first half of the quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the SWAC, 7-seed Florida A&M outscored 10-seed Prairie View A&M by 18 in the second half to claim a 75-66 victory, and 8-seed Grambling bounced 9-seed Alabama A&M, 73-56, to advance to tonight's first half of the quarterfinals.
• In the First Round of the wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-wiggity-WAC, 9-seed Utah Tech beat 8-seed Southern Utah, to snap a 13-game losing streak and advance to tonight's quarterfinals.
