Updated Championship Week Predictions

It was a relatively calm day yesterday, as the storm that will rage the next six days builds.  Here's what happened:

• In the Colonial title game, 3-seed Northeastern topped 1-seed William & Mary for their 8th appearance and first since 1991.  William & Mary remains one of five of the original 160 Division 1 schools that has never made it to the NCAA Tournament.  (Army, The Citadel, Northwestern, and St. Francis (NY) are the other schools.  St. Francis gets its shot tonight in the NEC title game.)
• In the MAAC, 3-seed Manhattan beat 1-seed Iona for MAAC title for the second year in a row.  It's the Jaspers' 8th overall NCAA Tournament appearance.
• In the SoCon, 10-seed Furman's Cinderella run is over as it fell to top seed Wofford in a close game, 67-64.  The Terriers earned their second NCAA berth in a row and fourth overall (and fourth in the last six years).
• In the Summit League semis, 1-seed South Dakota State won the battle for the Mount Rushmore State, beating 5-seed South Dakota, while 2-seed North Dakota State beat 3-seed Oral Roberts.  The Jackrabbits will be playing for their 3rd NCAA Tournament berth, first since 2013, and 3rd in the last 4 years.  The Bison are also playing for their 3rd NCAA Tournament and second in a row, after earning a 12-seed in last year's NCAA Tournament and upsetting 5-seed Oklahoma in the first round.
• In the WCC semis, top seed Gonzaga beat Pepperdine 79-61, and 2-seed BYU topped Portland 84-70 behind Kyle Collinsworth's NCAA-record tying sixth triple-double of the season.  Both teams will be going to the NCAA Tournament regardless of the result of the game.  Gonzaga will be going to its 18th NCAA Tournament (all since 1995), and BYU will be going to its 29th NCAA Tournament –- the most of any school that hasn't been to a Final Four.
• Two tournaments start today:  the ACC and the SWAC.
• Four bids are up for grabs today:  the Horizon, the NEC, the Summit League, and the WCC.
