Updated Championship Week Predictions

Now it's starting to get crazy.  There were some fantastic finishes and upsets last night.  Here's a quick rundown of some of the excitement:

• In the first round of the MAAC Tournament, Desi Washington of St. Peter's hit a three at the buzzer in overtime to give the Peacocks (yes, Peacocks) the victory over the Stags of Fairfield.  This, in itself is cool, but it's even more insane given the fact that, in both of the regular season matchups between these two teams, Washington hit a game-winning three at the buzzer.  Trifecta, indeed.
• Also in the MAAC, 11-seed (yes, the lowest seed in the tournament) Niagara scored the upset over 6-seed Marist.  Somewhere Calvin Murphy is smiling.
• In the first round of the MVC Tournament, 10-seed Loyola Chicago -- still the only school in Illinois to have ever won an NCAA Division 1 men's basketball title -- won its matchup with 7-seed Bradley by hitting a 30-foot three at the buzzer.
• It was a good night for 10 seeds named Loyola.  In the first round of the West Coast Conference Tournament, 10-seed Loyola Marymount upended 7-seed Portland, 67-64.  Somewhere Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble are smiling (in different locations, presumably).

Two more tournaments start today, and six total tournaments have games today.  Undefeated Wichita State plays its first game in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, in its continued quest to become the first team to go undefeated since the 1975-1976 Indiana Hoosiers.
