Updated Championship Week Predictions

Here are some highlights from yesterday's Championship Week action:

• Harvard topped Yale to clinch the Ivy League title and the first automatic NCAA Tournament berth of 2014.  After not making the Big Dance for 66 years, the Crimson have now been to three in a row.
• Wichita State beat Evansville in the quarterfinals of the MVC Tournament to remain undefeated, pushing their record to 32-0.  Next up for the Shockers is Missouri State.  A win over the Bears and a win in the MVC Tournament final would tie Wichita State for the longest winning streak in one season, matching the 1991 UNLV team that went 34-0 before losing to Duke in the NCAA title game, and would make the Shockers the first team since that UNLV team (who were, in fact, paid professionals) to be undefeated at the start of the NCAA Tournament.
• In the Big South, former NCAA Tournament Cinderella Winthrop (the 4S-seed) scored a minor upset by knocking off the 1N-seed High Point on a fantastic buzzer-beating three.
• In the first round of the SoCon, 11-seed The Citadel upset 6-seed UNC Greensboro.  After losing 17 in a row, including their first 14 conference games, and starting 4-25 (with 3 of those wins coming against Division II or NAIA teams), the Bulldogs have now won 3 in a row.  "Now won" is a palindrome.

*Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Grambling, Mississippi Valley State, and Southern are ineligible to compete in the NCAA Tournament for failing to meet the NCAA's APR requirements, but they are allowed to participate in the SWAC Tournament.  If one of the ineligible teams wins the tournament, the team among the six eligible teams that advances the furthest in the tournament will receive the conference's NCAA tournament bid.  If there is a tie (for example, all remaining tournament-eligible teams are eliminated in the same round), the automatic berth will go to the highest-seeded team.
